Iranian Forces State Attack on US Base in the Kingdom of Bahrain, As Part of Regional Retaliatory Strikes.
Iran's military claims to have hit a US naval base in Bahrain, as Iran launched operations throughout the Middle East in response for a large-scale and continuing attack against it by the US and Israel.
Large columns of dark smoke were observed billowing from an zone near the command center of the American Fifth Fleet in Manama, Bahrain. The extent of any damage is unclear and the American officials has not commented.
Airspace Engagements
In other parts of the Middle East, the UAE, the State of Qatar and the State of Kuwait - which all house American military installations - said they have intercepted incoming projectiles in their airspace.
In Doha, the Qatari Ministry of Defence stated it had successfully engaged a number of projectiles seemingly aimed at the Al Udeid Air Base, the largest American base in the region.
IRGC Statement
The Iranian Revolutionary Guard stated it was attacking American facilities and interests as part of military campaign "Truthful Promise 4", in response for the strikes on the Islamic Republic carried out by the United States and its ally Israel on Saturday.
That US-Israeli operation - initiated at approximately 09:15 Iran time - has so far focused on areas linked to the the regime, with President Trump encouraging the Iranian people to revolt against the leadership.
Wider Impacts
In the State of Israel, sirens were heard nationwide after the Israel Defense Forces said it had identified an barrage of missiles from Iran.
The defence ministry of the United Arab Emirates said in a statement that the country has been subjected to a "a blatant attack involving Iranian ballistic missiles".
"Emirati air defenses responded to the missiles with great effectiveness and successfully intercepted a series of missiles," it added.
The statement noted wreckage fell on a populated district in the capital, causing some property damage and fatalities.
The United States Air Force operates from the Al Dhafra base, to the south of the Emirati capital, along with the Emirati Air Force.
