Loyal supporters of Ariana Grande are demanding that a person who leaped a barricade and seized the actress during yesterday's Wicked: For Good launch be taken into custody or deported from Singapore.

A widely shared footage shows the Australian man pushing past media personnel and lunging at Grande while the cast proceeded down a promenade surrounded by supporters.

Fellow actress Cynthia Erivo promptly pulled the surprised star away from Mr Wen, who was spotted being escorted out of the event by event staff.

Mr Wen stated on Instagram late on Thursday that he was "free after being arrested", though court documents indicated that he was scheduled to be present on the next day. It is unknown if he was formally accused.

Pattern of Disruptions

This is not an isolated incident for Mr Wen, who labels himself a "Controversial Figure", has disrupted a concert or event. His Instagram profile features videos of him interrupting other high-profile occasions, including jumping on stage at the artist's Sydney concert in recently and in a like fashion during The Chainsmokers event in the same location last year.

"There needs to be action taken against him as this is evidently a criminal offence," stated an Instagram commenter, in a message to a video Mr Wen shared of his actions.

"You've done this repeatedly... how are you not behind bars?" one Instagram user remarked.

Followers Voice Worry Over Grande's Past Trauma

Many fans blamed Mr Wen for "re-traumatising" Grande, who had spoken of suffering from trauma-related anxiety after a suicide bomb attack at the conclusion of her spring 2017 show in Manchester, resulting in the death of 22 people and injuring many.

"The star has endured numerous terrifying experiences... including the Manchester tragedy, and you believed breaching security was amusing?" commented another message on Instagram.

Several attendees also faulted security officers at the premiere for not being adequately prepared; while different individuals requested social media platforms to block Mr Wen's videos.

Reaction and Premiere Information

In clips shared widely, Grande appeared startled when she was grabbed by the man. Her co-stars Michelle Yeoh and Erivo can be spotted reassuring her while Mr Wen was led out by staff.

Grande has not issued a statement on the event, and the remaining proceedings continued without further issues.

Many of supporters had gathered in a mass of colorful attire at the Wicked: For Good Asia-Pacific debut in a Singapore mall, including some who had queued for as long as many hours before it began.

The film, to be released on the 21st of November, is the follow-up of a dual adaptation of the well-known theatrical production Wicked, which focuses on the unlikely bond between two very different witches.

The show itself is a spin-off of the classic story The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Grande, who plays the character Glinda Glinda, was decked out in a rosé glittering gown at the gathering while Erivo, who acts as the wicked witch, wore a sleek black dress featuring roses.

They were accompanied by cast member Jeff Goldblum.

The previous installment, Wicked, was the highest-grossing film of last year in the UK, and earned 10 award recognitions, securing a pair for excellent wardrobe and production design.
