Esteemed Actor Pat Finn, Known For Roles in Seinfeld and The Middle, Has Died at the Age of Sixty.
US actor Pat Finn, who featured in popular programs like "Friends", Seinfeld and The Middle, has succumbed aged 60.
The skilled improv artist died at home in LA on Monday following treatment for cancer from 2022 onward, per media reports.
"Pat considered no one a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his relatives said in a statement.
They noted that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".
A Notable TV Career
His debut TV appearance was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he portrayed the brother of the main character.
He also had a recurring role on Murphy Brown between 1995 and 1997.
He played the part of a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in 1998, portraying a host known to delegate burdensome jobs to his guests.
Throughout the late 1990s and early 2000s, he made guest appearances on several hit series, such as:
- King of Queens
- Friends
- That '70s Show
- House, M.D.
His most famous role for playing Bill Norwood in The Middle, featuring across eight series between 2011 and 2018.
His film credits are It's Complicated and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).
Beyond the Screen
Away from his television work, Finn was an improv performer and also taught at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.
He was a member of a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".
"He taught, supported, and inspired numerous pupils during his career and it's nearly impossible to find a person anywhere who has an unkind word to say about him," his family wrote.
Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind remarked there was "nobody more kind, gentle, and humorous, grounded individual you could encounter".
"Always positive, helping you be funnier and better. A great dad, a great guy," Kind wrote on social media.
The actor is leaves behind his spouse Donna, his children, and his parents and siblings.
