The creators Joseph Gilgun and Danny Brocklehurst are wrapping up on their comedy series about a tight-knit bunch of likable chancers running riot in a rural Lancashire town. You might expect the last episode to be a nostalgic highlight reel of booze, drugs and cheeky thievery. But, the vibes are distinctly darker as Vinnie (Gilgun) and the crew barricade themselves in a pub with criminal figure Davey MacDonagh for a climactic 50th episode seemingly influenced by the filmmaker Quentin Tarantino.
Dragons’ Den
8pm on BBC One
Ballet dancers leap into the den this week, as mothers Laura and Stacey present their line of adaptive dance attire – and cause Peter Jones to become flustered. Next, an ophthalmologist turned innovator has a smart device for lost tape ends.
All Creatures Great and Small
9pm, Channel 5
The veterinary adventures are generally good, but this superior period drama proves its worth with tender character work. A particularly affecting episode weaves the stories of a lame shire horse and a vanished calf into a deeper plotline focusing on the character Tristan, whose behaviour prompts a fraternal intervention.
The Drama The Hack
9pm on ITV1
It’s been a long road. But the second-to-last episode of this at first slow-moving but ultimately compelling series about phone hacking sees David Tennant’s Nick discovering details about the News of the World’s conduct that the rest of the media simply are forced to acknowledge. The situation improves for the character Dave, who has a unexpected new supporter.
RuPaul’s Drag Race UK
9pm, BBC Three
Prepare for enthusiastic gestures: it’s time to present Peter Pansy – The Musical! That means the stress increases for the queens to sing, dance, act and ultimately slay as they prepare for the production. And what better guest judge than West End stage legend Mazz Murray, together with the panel including Graham Norton, Michelle Visage, and RuPaul.
The Iris Affair
9pm on Sky Atlantic
Anyone afraid of insects will want to skip ahead as the sixth episode starts, before a tense standoff, reminiscent of a Mexican or Sardinian scenario ensues, when Cameron forces Iris to swap her diary for the hostaged Joy – else she’ll be “riddled with bullets” from Meski’s menacing drone … How to get out of this one?
